Theme of the Week: Control What You Can
Brother,
Earlier this week, we discussed the importance of focusing on what is within your control rather than directing energy toward what is not. Today is about applying that principle in a simple way.
This weekend, choose one area of your life you would like to develop or improve. It could be your physical health, your work, your relationships, your mindset, or your daily discipline.
Once you have identified the area, ask yourself: What is one practical step within my control that would move me forward? Keep it realistic and specific.
If it’s your health, schedule two workouts.
If it’s your mindset, begin journaling for five minutes a day.
If it’s your career, complete one important task you have been delaying.
This activity helps you focus attention on your own actions rather than external circumstances.
There will always be factors outside of your control - other people’s decisions, unexpected outcomes, delays, or setbacks. What I have learned is that personal growth and happiness become more consistent when your standards are not dependent on those variables.
Choose one action and build from there. Improvement often begins with small, repeatable behaviours that are fully within your control.
As you move into the weekend, consider: What is one step I can take to better myself, regardless of what others do?
Start there and the rest will fall into place!
Stay strong, even when you are not. It is okay, you are not alone.
With love always,
Michael Argyrides
