Theme of the Week: Finding Meaning
Brother,
Earlier this week, we spoke about suffering, and how even in our hardest moments, there is often something meaningful waiting to be found within it.
The truth is, meaning is not always obvious when we are in the middle of hardship.
When life feels heavy, uncertain, or painful, our first instinct is often to ask “Why is this happening?” or to focus on what has been taken from us.
That is human. But sometimes the better question is: “What can this teach me?”
Not every difficult season will bring immediate answers. Some lessons take time to reveal themselves. But reflection allows us to slow down and consider that maybe, even in struggle, something important is being shaped within us.
This weekend, I invite you to take a few quiet moments for yourself. Whether in your journal, your notes app, or simply in your own thoughts, reflect on this:
Think of a difficult time in your life — a season where you were hurting, struggling, or uncertain. Then ask yourself:
What did that experience teach me about myself?
Did it reveal something I needed to change, strengthen, or let go of?
Did anything meaningful come from it, even if I couldn’t see it at the time?
You do not need to have all the answers, sometimes the act of reflecting is enough. Because meaning is not always found in the event itself, but in what it awakens in us.
Growth. Awareness. Strength. Perspective.
And often, when we look back, we realize that some of the hardest moments in our lives shaped us in ways comfort never could.
Suffering is painful. There is no denying that. But if you are willing to pay attention, there is often something within it that can move you forward.
Take some time this weekend to reflect on that.
There may be more meaning in your story than you realize.
Stay strong, even when you are not. It's okay, you are not alone.
With love always,
Michael Argyrides
