Theme of the Week: Knowledge is Power
Hello everyone,
This week, I shared how knowledge has helped me repeatedly pick myself back up throughout different stages of my life. My ability to manage adversity, regulate my emotions, build better habits, and understand myself more deeply was not something I was simply born with. I had to learn.
Books, motivational speeches, workbooks, conversations, faith, and the mindsets of top performers have all given me knowledge that has shaped who I am today. However, that knowledge could not have helped me if I had not first been curious enough to search for it.
There are lessons, ideas, and pieces of advice that have changed how we think, behave, and respond to difficult situations. Taking the time to identify them allows us to see how far we have come.
This Weekend’s Practice: The Knowledge That Built You
Set aside ten minutes with a pen and paper. Think about the knowledge that has had the greatest influence on your self-development and mindset.
Reflect on the following questions:
What is one lesson/idea/advice that has changed the way I approach life?
Where did I learn it? From a book, conversation, experience, mentor, podcast, or another source?
How did this knowledge change the way I think, behave, or respond?
Next, consider one area of your life in which you still feel stuck. Write down one honest question that could guide your next stage of learning:
What do I still need to understand in order to grow here?
You do not need to find the answer immediately. The question itself gives your curiosity somewhere to go.
Before you finish, take a moment to give yourself credit. You were curious enough to search for the knowledge that has helped you become who you are today. You were willing to listen, reflect, and apply what you learned. Even choosing to read this newsletter is evidence that you care about your growth.
The person you are today carries every lesson you were willing to receive.
Continue to recognize the knowledge that has already strengthened you, and stay open to the knowledge that will help you on your Path to Becoming.
Stay strong, even when you are not. It's okay, you are not alone.
With love always,
Michael Argyrides
