Theme of the Week: Bend, Don't Break
Brother,
Earlier this week, I shared that building a strong mindset supported me through some of life’s greatest challenges.
Over the years, I discovered that different practices helped me regulate my mind and body in different ways. Prayer reminded me that I wasn't carrying my burdens alone. Journaling helped me organize the thoughts that felt overwhelming in my head. Exercise gave me an outlet when anxiety felt trapped in my body. Reading, meditation, affirmations, and time outdoors each became tools I could reach for depending on what I needed most.
A wellness toolbox is a collection of habits and practices you can turn to when life feels overwhelming. These are the strategies that help you feel more grounded, regulate your thoughts and emotions, and regain perspective. The more consistently you use them, the more natural and effective they become during times of stress.
This weekend’s practice is a simple and practical way to start building your own wellness toolbox.
The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA HKPR) has created an excellent Wellness Toolbox worksheet that helps you identify the activities, habits, and resources that support your well-being.
You can access it here: Wellness Toolbox Activity
As you work through the activity, think about the practices that genuinely help you feel more grounded, connected, and resilient. Some tools might be part of your daily routine, while others may only be needed during particularly challenging seasons.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this week’s activity. What is in your wellness toolbox? Use the button below to share your thoughts and perspectives
I hope you all have an excellent weekend ahead.
As always…
Stay strong, even when you are not. It's okay, you are not alone.
With love always,
